1. Overview
At PlantScan, we strive to provide the best plant identification experience possible. This Refund Policy explains our policies regarding refunds for PlantScan Premium subscriptions and in-app purchases. Please read this policy carefully before making any purchase.
2. Subscription Plans
PlantScan offers premium subscription plans that provide access to enhanced features, including:
- Unlimited plant scans and identifications
- Access to 500,000+ plant species database
- Expert care guides and detailed plant information
- Ad-free experience
- Location tracking for your discoveries
Subscriptions are available on various billing cycles (weekly, monthly, or annually) and are charged through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account.
3. Free Trial Period
PlantScan offers a free trial period for new Premium subscribers. During the free trial:
- You can access all Premium features at no charge
- You can cancel at any time before the trial ends without being charged
- Payment will be charged at confirmation of purchase if you do not cancel before the trial period ends
- Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial period
Important: To avoid being charged, you must cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the trial period ends.
4. Automatic Renewal
All PlantScan Premium subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel them. Here's what you need to know:
- Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period
- You will be charged the subscription fee unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends
- Auto-renewal can be turned off in your App Store or Google Play account settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
5. Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your PlantScan Premium subscription at any time:
- iOS Users: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > PlantScan > Cancel Subscription
- Android Users: Open Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > PlantScan > Cancel Subscription
- In-App: Go to Profile > Restore Purchases to manage your subscription
When you cancel, you will continue to have access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time in a billing period.
6. Refund Eligibility
Refunds for PlantScan Premium subscriptions are handled according to the policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, as all purchases are processed through these platforms. Generally, refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:
- Technical Issues: If you experience significant technical problems that prevent you from using Premium features and our support team cannot resolve them
- Unauthorized Charges: If you were charged without authorization or due to fraudulent activity
- Billing Errors: If you were charged incorrectly or multiple times for the same subscription
- Accidental Purchase: If you accidentally purchased a subscription and contact us immediately (within 48 hours)
Note: Refunds are generally not provided if you simply change your mind or decide you no longer want the subscription after using Premium features.
7. How to Request a Refund
7.1 Through App Store or Google Play
Since all purchases are processed through the App Store or Google Play, you must request refunds directly from these platforms:
For iOS Users (Apple App Store):
- Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find your PlantScan purchase
- Select "Report a Problem" and choose the reason for your refund request
- Submit your request
For Android Users (Google Play):
- Visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
- Find your PlantScan subscription
- Select "Request a refund" or "Report a problem"
- Choose the reason for your refund request
- Submit your request
7.2 Through PlantScan Support
If you're unable to request a refund through the App Store or Google Play, you can contact our support team:

Please include the following information in your refund request:
- Your account email address
- Order/Transaction ID
- Date of purchase
- Reason for refund request
- Description of any technical issues (if applicable)
8. Refund Processing Time
Refund processing times vary depending on the platform:
- Apple App Store: Typically 3-5 business days after approval
- Google Play Store: Typically 3-5 business days after approval
The refund will be credited to your original payment method. Please note that it may take additional time for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.
9. Restore Purchases
If you've purchased PlantScan Premium and it's not showing in the app, you can restore your purchase:
- Open PlantScan and go to the Profile tab
- Tap "Restore Purchases"
- Your Premium subscription will be restored if it's active
This feature is useful if you've reinstalled the app, switched devices, or if your Premium features aren't displaying correctly.
10. Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will not be provided in the following situations:
- You changed your mind after using Premium features for an extended period
- You forgot to cancel before the free trial ended
- You didn't use the Premium features during your subscription period
- You violated PlantScan's Terms of Service
- You're requesting a refund for a subscription that ended more than 60 days ago

Before requesting a refund due to technical issues, we encourage you to contact our support team. Many issues can be quickly resolved, and we're committed to ensuring you have the best experience with PlantScan. Our support team is available to help with:
- App crashes or freezing
- Plant identification accuracy concerns
- Feature access problems
- Account or subscription issues
- General questions about using PlantScan
12. Promotional Offers and Discounts
Occasionally, PlantScan may offer promotional pricing or discounts on Premium subscriptions. Please note:
- Promotional offers cannot be combined with other discounts
- Refunds for promotional subscriptions follow the same policy as regular subscriptions
- When a promotional period ends, your subscription will renew at the standard price
- We do not provide refunds for the difference if you purchased at full price before a promotion
13. Changes to This Refund Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website and app. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of PlantScan after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Governing Law
This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PlantScan operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from this policy will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.

16. Fair Use Policy

- Providing false information in refund requests
- Attempting to exploit the refund policy
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Fair Use Policy.
